Vienna's Prater - The Giant Ferris Wheel ("Riesenrad")

Open all year, the Riesenrad is one of the most visited attractions of this metropolis. In 2008, the square "Riesenradplatz" re-opened with a new design. Well-presented, this entrance to the Prater amusement park provides guests with an nostalgic experience reminiscent reminiscent of the Prater from the1900s.

Also found on the Riesenradplatz is "Vienna Airlines"- an exciting flight simulator, which "takes off" five times per hour, gives an aerial view of Vienna's famous landmarks.

Sezession

On a plot of land provided by the City Council, Joseph Olbrich built in 1897/98 for the union of pedagogic artists in Vienna an exhibition building in Art Nouveau style ("Jugendstil").

In 1985/86, the foliage-dome of the Secession, the "Golden Cabbage", was regildet and restored thanks to a donation from the U.S. ambassador in Vienna, Ronald Lauder and his wife Jo Carole. The architect Adolf Krischanitz led the restoration efforts.

On this occasion, the 34-meter-long Beethoven Frieze, a picturesque interpretation of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, created by Gustav Klimt for the Beethoven exhibition 1902, was mounted in a newly created space in the basement for permanent viewing.

From the comfort of Vienna's ring tram, you can learn about Vienna's splendid boulevard, the ring road which encircles the old town. The tram operates year-round from 10-18.00 with extended hours (10-19.00) in July and August.

In the coaches (40 seats) LCD screens provide information about the highlights along the route, plus there is information in multiple languages through headphones.
The tram is in accordance with the hop-on, hop-off system and stops at selected stations for boarding and alighting. For the use of their, own tickets are provided.

Schönbrunn, the former summer residence of the imperial family, is one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in Europe. For most of the year, the Habsburgs resided in numerous rooms for the large imperial family in addition to all the representational rooms.
In 1830, the Emperor Franz Joseph, who later married the enchanting Sisi and reigned from 1848-1916, was born here. His last years of life were spent entirely in the palace, which was passed two years after his death in the administration of the new republic. Today, by virtue of its historical significance, its unique grounds and its splendid furnishings, the Schönbrunn is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
